Hot Stone Massage   Massage Therapy for Fibromyalgia
Smooth, silky, hot stones are worked over tense muscles to provide a luxurious sense of health and relaxation. Stone massage is a rhythmic dance with stones, focusing heavily on muscle sculpting, pressing and ironing.   A custom massage and program of treatment would be advised for clients with Fibromyalgia. The full course of treatment would involve 10 massages spread out over a 5-week period. A program of light exercise 2 to 3 times a week should commence after the first 10 massages. During this time, another 5 massages would be performed. There would be a 2 to 3 week break in massage therapy, however exercise should be continued. Massage therapy would continue for another 15 sessions. At this time exercise should be increased to 4 times a week. Regular massage combined with exercise and stretches that do not produce pain is advised for maintenance. The multiple symptoms of Fibromyalgia should be significantly reduced at the conclusion of this regimen.
